Job overview This role is part of the Movement Disorder team at Sheffield teaching Hospital. The Senior Clinical Nurse Specialist In DBS will work collaboratively with the broader Movement Disorder and Neurosurgery team, delivering high quality care to patients with movement disorders and dystonia undergoing Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) from the preoperative phase, through the intraoperative and postoperative stages, and into long-term management. The CNS has responsibilities on Clinical Practice; Leadership; Education and Research. Advert The post holder must be flexible in the approach to the clinical area, acting as a professional role model, involved in direct or indirect provision of care. The post holder will assess, plan, implement and evaluate programmes of care, ensuring the provision of specialist advice to this caseload of patients and participate in decision making as a member of the wider Movement Disorder team and Neurosurgery MDT. The post holder will act as an advocate and apply in-depth knowledge of clinical and holistic aspects of care to patients in the DBS pathway, acting as a resource to patients/ service users, families, carers and healthcare professionals. The post holder will lead on various clinical and service initiatives, including service planning, and management of patients and resources in line with allocated budgets.
