Join to apply for the Construction and Engineering Inspector role at WSP in the U.S.
WSP is currently seeking a Construction and Engineering Inspector to join our team in Abingdon. This position is available for qualified candidates to apply immediately and be involved in projects with our Inspection Earth & Environment Team to help meet client objectives and solve challenges.
Responsibilities
* Inspect and document project related construction activities for conformance to project plans
* Work at various client construction project sites in the Southwest Virginia and East Tennessee areas inspecting and assessing construction activities
* Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures
* Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
* High School Diploma or GED
* Minimum of 7 years of relevant post-education experience in the discipline with prior construction inspection experience
* VDOT Fully Certified
* Experience in inspection of concrete, soils, asphalt, and pavement markings
* Nuclear Gauge certified
* Valid state driver’s license
* Self-motivated with a proven record of accountability
* Strong communication skills both written and verbal
* Must be able to read plans, specs and technical specifications
* Must be able to lift up to 50 lb
* Must be able to be on your feet throughout the day including walking and climbing ladders
Preferred Qualifications
* Associate’s Degree in closely related discipline is preferred
* Nuclear gauge license preferable
* Prior experience working on commercial and transportation projects preferred

Compensation
Expected Salary (all locations): 29.76 - 42.58
