Lab Technician – Asphalt & Aggregates Testing
6-Month Temp to Perm Contract
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Lab Technician to join a busy materials testing laboratory on a 6-month temporary contract, with the opportunity to become permanent after 6 months. This is working on a large project in Oxford.
The Role:
You will be responsible for carrying out laboratory testing on asphalt and aggregate materials, ensuring compliance with industry standards and quality requirements. This is a hands-on role within a fast-paced environment, supporting production and quality assurance processes.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct asphalt and aggregate testing in accordance with relevant standards
* Perform UKAS-accredited testing procedures and maintain accurate records
* Prepare and process samples for laboratory analysis
* Ensure compliance with quality, health & safety, and laboratory procedures
* Report results accurately and flag any non-conformances
* Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure calibration requirements are met
Requirements
* Proven experience in asphalt and aggregate laboratory testing
* Strong understanding of UKAS testing procedures and quality systems
* Knowledge of relevant BS/EN testing standards
* Good attention to detail and strong record-keeping skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Experience with Marshalls products or within a Marshalls environment is preferred but not essential.
Contract Details
* 6-month temporary
