SEMH Tutor - Re-engaging Young Learners
Location: Warwickshire (incl. Rugby & East Warwickshire)
Rate: From GBP24/hour | Part-Time, Flexible (option to build to FT) | Term-Time Only
Are you experienced in helping children who feel excluded, anxious, or misunderstood in mainstream school?
Prospero Teaching is recruiting SEMH Tutors to work with pupils 1:1 who are currently out of school due to social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) challenges. Your role is not just about delivering a curriculum - its about helping a young person trust, connect, and learn again.
Key Aspects of the Role:
- Deliver tailored sessions that help pupils re-engage with learning.
- Embed therapeutic strategies and build emotional regulation skills.
- Support transition goals - e.g. reintegration to school or preparation for exams.
Who were looking for:
- Teachers, youth mentors, behaviour leads or experienced tutors with SEMH exposure.
- Someone confident working alone and managing unpredictable behaviours.
- Individuals who can offer both routine and flexibility, empathy and expectation.
Essential:
- QTS or strong background in SEMH, counselling, or therapeutic education.
- Experience working with students in PRUs, alternative provision or via EHCPs.
- Two child-related references and Enhanced DBS (on update service or applied for).
