We have a great opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineer with CNC machining experience to support the design, development and manufacture of electro-mechanical products within the Pyropress and Ex-tech Signalling product portfolio. The Manufacturing Engineer ensures product integrity through accurate BOM and ERP maintenance, undertaking make/buy reviews, optimising manufacturing and assembly processes, providing technical expertise into design and development programmes and contributes to product testing process development. Manufacturing Engineer duties: Support in the effective design and manufacturing of machined components DFM, DFA input into New Product Development programmes Shopfloor support for the assembly and test of products Providing technical support to sales for resolution of customer queries Assist the internal purchasing team with technical support for alternative parts Item creation and BOM maintenance on our ERP system Overseeing electrical and mechanical test equipment design, build and maintenance Overseeing the creation of product support documentation. (wiring diagrams, test instructions, SOPs etc.) Ensuring the ongoing maintenance of product CAD models, drawings, and wiring diagrams etc. resulting from Continual Improvement activities Essential Manufacturing Engineer skills: Competent creator of drawings and wiring diagrams in 2D CAD software Proven CNC machining expertise including stainless steel, castings, thermoset plastics Demonstrable experience and delivery of Continual Improvement projects Proven problem solver with an analytical approach to fault diagnosis Practical experience of root-cause analysis Ability to write technical instructions and documents Able to make significant improvements to product and process Good knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, strong Excel skills being key Excellent attention to detail where necessary, whilst understanding the bigger picture Proactive, enthusiastic, and flexible attitude to job role Confidence to use initiative when required Desirable Manufacturing Engineer experience: Previous experience of working with Autodesk software (Vault & Inventor) Knowledge of Hazardous Area or experience in a highly regulated industry.
