The Department of Classics and Archaeology is looking for a Post-graduate Teaching Assistant (PGTA) for the academic year Please note, we can only accept applicants whose supervisors (i.e., lead or second) are based in the Department of Classics and Archaeology.
The purpose of the role is to support teaching and learning in our modules, working with the academic module convenor(s) through the delivery of small group teaching for students taking CLAR1013 – Interpreting Ancient Art and Archaeology in Semester 2, contract to start mid-January.
This is a Part-Time, FTC position funded until 19-Jun-2026.
Workload details:
* Delivery of 4 1-hour seminars to 4 seminar groups
* Marking 50 2,000-word essays
* 10 office hours
Seminar dates are still to be confirmed with timetabling. You will be provided with guidance for each seminar and before the assessment period by the module convenor.

This core teaching in the academic session will be delivered face-to-face in a classroom setting (though in-year changes may be necessary). PGTAs are expected to be able to commit to be present on the University Park campus during the terms for which teaching is allocated.
