We are seeking to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced teacher with extensive knowledge of Special Educational Needs and Inclusion in the role of Assistant Principal (Deep Support).
The role of Assistant Principal will provide an exciting challenge where the right candidate can make a significant difference to the pupils’ lives at the Ferns Academy. We are looking for the person who will be the champion for inclusion pushing this forward into all aspects of the school’s life.
Our Assistant Principal must be an excellent teacher able to demonstrate strong inclusive and adaptive practice. They will be able to provide ongoing support to a receptive team of teachers and support staff all focused on developing strong outcomes for all pupils. Experience of teaching across either KS1 and/ or Lower KS2 or a willingness to teach in one of these classes would be essential.
The successful candidate will:
• Fully qualified teachers with experience of acting as SENCO or holds the National Award
for SENDCO experienced of working with pupils with a range of special educational needs
• Excellent with an understanding of the SEND Code of Practice
• Calm and focused with a resolution-focused approach
• Able to motivate, support and inspire learners, members of staff and our wider
community
• Keen to make a significant contribution to the realisation of a shared Trust vision
