Competitive basic with a very generous premium when working onsite. Guarenteed earnings of £60-70'000 (made up of basic +shift premium for working away)

The Role:
My client is seeking a skilled and detail-focused Quality Supervisor to take charge of welding quality and the overall Quality Management System within their engineering operations. This is an ideal role for a competent welder who has moved away from the tools into a quality-focused career, bringing both practical shop-floor knowledge in welding/ fabrication and a strong grasp of quality standards.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring welding activities, suppliers, and internal processes meet the highest standards keeping the business compliant with ISO and industry regulations while continually improving operational performance.
Key responsibilities include:
* Ensuring the quality of the work carried out on project by the welders and closely related workers.
* Managing, developing and improving the Quality Management System in line with ISO 9001:2015.
* Leading and preparing for internal and external audits.
* Writing work procedures and ensuring compliance to procedure,
* Effective management of the database,
* Understanding client-specific quality requirements and developing tailored project procedures.
* Overseeing document control across head office and site operations.
* Review of relevant CAD drawings,
* Investigating non-conformances and implementing corrective and preventive actions.
* Acting as the company welding coordinator — managing welder performance qualifications, prolongations, and related database updates.
* Staying up to date with relevant welding codes, standards, and quality regulations.
About You:
You will be a practical, hands-on quality leader with a solid background in welding, backed up by professional qualifications.
Essential skills and experience:
* CSWIP 3.1 Welding Inspector qualification.
* Background as a competent welder with experience moving into a quality-focused role.
* Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 and welding quality standards.
* Experience managing audits and developing quality procedures.
* Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
