Our Engineering Manager is responsible for optimising plant availability across two sites in Nottingham and Leicester to efficiently deliver our material processing targets.
Our role focuses on expert practical problem solving and continuous improvement, balancing operational throughput with plant availability, using our Shire pre‑planned maintenance system and coordinating engineering activities to improve our plant. You will lead, motivate and manage a team of multi‑skilled maintenance engineers, with 3rd party contractors as appropriate, driving a continuous improvement culture within the maintenance team.

* Devising and managing the Engineering Budget, capex and monthly spend in line with agreed parameters
* Drafting risk assessments, method statements, safe working procedures with appropriate training and competency validation
* Optimise pre‑planned preventative maintenance, refurbishment and replacement of process equipment as appropriate
* Deliver reliability‑centred maintenance strategy derived from OEM recommendations, in‑service failure diagnosis and PPM frequency and continuously review asset performance to eliminate/reduce mechanical or electrical failures
* Manage procurement of all spare parts ensuring minimum stock levels for identified critical items to avoid production losses through lack of availability of parts and financial write‑downs, consignment stock and rebate opportunities to minimise maintenance spend whilst not reducing quality or reliability
* Manage statutory plant inspections and ensure any non‑conformances and opportunities for improvement are addressed promptly
