Job Description:
Vacancy - Head of Care and Support – Full Time
Are you a compassionate and visionary healthcare leader with a heart for palliative care? At ACCORD Hospice, we place compassion, dignity, and person-centred care at the core of all we do. We’re seeking an experienced and dynamic Head of Care and Support to lead and inspire our multi-professional teams.
This is a rare opportunity to take on a pivotal leadership role in a well-respected, forward-thinking organisation. Your work will make a meaningful difference to individuals with life-limiting illnesses and the people who care for them.
About the Role
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive and forming part of the Senior Leadership Team, you will provide values-led, strategic leadership across clinical services, quality governance, and education. You’ll champion innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement—ensuring regulatory excellence and the highest standards of care.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading strategic and operational delivery of clinical services across the Inpatient Unit, Community Hub, and Bereavement Network.
Driving innovation and integration across nursing, allied health professionals, and support teams.
Building strong relationships with the NHS, Health and Social Care Partnerships, and national palliative care networks.
Ensuring excellence in clinical governance, patient safety, service development, and education.
We will support requests to work part-time at 30hrs
About You
You are a senior healthcare professional who brings both expertise and heart to your work. You will have:
A first degree in a relevant clinical profession and registration with the appropriate regulatory body.
Extensive leadership experience in palliative or complex care settings.
Postgraduate qualifications or strategic-level experience.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
A passion for values-led, person-centred care aligned with ACCORD’s mission.
Why Join ACCORD?
This is more than a leadership post—it’s a calling. You’ll join a compassionate, collaborative organisation where your leadership shapes services that matter most to people during life’s most vulnerable moments.
