Job Overview
This is a fixed position covering Dudley Hospitals.
We are looking for motivated and enthusiastic tradespeople to join our growing engineering team.
Our Multi Skilled Technicians provide facilities support services to sterile operations across our client sites. The role involves carrying out electrical/mechanical maintenance and business support tasks. You will report to an engineering manager and assist engineers with reactive, planned, and ad hoc maintenance.
Suitable training and up-skilling may be provided to achieve competency in responsibilities outlined below.
Working hours: Although core hours are 08:00 to 16:30, flexibility may be available depending on circumstances.
Responsibilities
1. Assist the Engineering Lead in organizing, managing, and coordinating on-site services to ensure high standards of service.
2. Assist in logistical moves.
3. Write simple reports as required.
4. Achieve contract SLA & KPI for reactive and planned work orders.
5. Complete work-related documentation accurately and timely.
6. Learn and comply with MITIE policies and procedures.
7. Perform work safely, using risk assessments where necessary.
8. Follow health and safety policies and attend training and appraisals.
9. Undertake additional duties as capable and assist with team training.
10. Monitor and supervise team members, including apprentices, and assist with reports.
11. Perform planned and reactive maintenance on mechanical and electrical equipment, including fault diagnostics and repairs.
12. Adhere to MITIE Quality System documentation.
Qualifications
1. NVQ/SVQ Level 3 in a relevant mechanical or electrical discipline.
2. Experience from a recognized trade training scheme and similar role preferred.
3. Ability to carry out maintenance and installation tasks within contract scope.
4. Steam and Decontamination training or willingness to undertake.
5. Ability to perform small building fabric repairs and maintenance.
6. Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
7. Physical ability to work at heights and rotating shifts if required.
8. Flexible attitude to work.
9. Knowledge of SSOW and permit issuing.
10. Customer service experience, preferably face-to-face, email, and phone.
11. Competent in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel).
12. Ability to pass a clear CRB check.
