Overview
Due to an expansion of our Community Dermatology Service, we are recruiting an experienced part-time Healthcare Assistant to support the team. The successful candidate will have previous experience and be dedicated to delivering excellent patient care. The post holder will need to be flexible and adaptable to work across a variety of clinics throughout Dorset. This role is based across two sites: Pelhams Community Clinic in Kinson and Poole Healthcare Centre in the Dolphin Centre.
Responsibilities
* Assist and support both Outpatient and Surgical clinics.
* Record information on the clinical record keeping system (SystmOne) with accuracy and competency.
* Ensure necessary instruments are available and set up in preparation for minor surgery clinics.
* Undertake, record and follow guidelines for tasks for which you have received appropriate training.
* Prepare and maintain environments and equipment before, during and after patient care interventions.
* Assist GPwSIs (General Practitionerw Specialist Informaticians) whilst patients are undergoing minor procedures.
* Record accurate patient information on the clinical record system.
* Complete IPC audits on a monthly basis.
* Be flexible regarding working days; there is an opportunity to take on additional hours on an ad-hoc basis.
* Note that visa sponsorship is not available for this role; applicants must have valid right to work in the UK and will not require sponsorship if successful.
* This is a fixed-term role and, for those with current NHS service, the role will be offered on a secondment basis only; obtain permission to be released on a secondment before applying.
Qualifications and Experience
* Experience as a Healthcare Assistant, with prior work in Outpatient and Surgical clinics.
* Experience and skill using Microsoft Office suite.
* Experience using the SystmOne clinical record keeping system.
* Ability to work across multiple clinics in Dorset and to be flexible with days and hours.
* DBS check required; enhanced disclosure via DBS is covered by the Trust, and applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service may present a valid DBS certificate instead of a new check.
Employment Details
Location: Pelhams Community Clinic (Kinson) and Poole Healthcare Centre (Dolphin Centre).
Contract: Fixed-term; part-time; secondment options may apply for NHS staff.
Other: The role requires enhanced DBS clearance. Right to work in the UK is required and this role does not offer visa sponsorship.
