Finance officer Upperton Pharma Solutions is a Nottingham-based CDMO that specialises in the development and manufacture of pharmaceutical products, providing a complete service from early-stage feasibility to GMP clinical manufacture. Formulations cover a range of delivery routes, typically including oral (tablets & capsules), nasal and inhaled. We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Finance Officer to join our finance team. This is a broad, hands-on role covering both purchase and sales ledger responsibilities, offering excellent exposure across multiple finance functions. You will work closely with the CFO and senior leadership team, gaining valuable experience, responsibility, and autonomy within the finance function. This role is ideal for someone looking to develop their finance career in a supportive environment, with the opportunity to grow and take ownership of key processes. Study support is available for the right candidate. Main duties and responsibilities: Process and post supplier invoices, ensuring correct coding and approval. Manage the accounts payable inbox and handle supplier queries promptly. Prepare and process weekly supplier payment runs. Complete supplier statement reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies. Maintain the aged creditors report and ensure balances are accurate. Process and reconcile company credit card and employee expense claims. Credit application forms Manage procurement system Accurately raise and send Sales Ledger Invoices Reconcile Customer accounts and maintain accurate records of all customer transactions Monitor aged Debt and proactively chase overdue accounts Maintain strong client relationships Work with PMs & wider team on invoicing queries Compile & charge all pass through costs each month Perform daily bank reconciliations Process bank transactions accurately and efficiently Support audit preparation Support month end processes & management accounts preparation Essential Skills and experience: Experience in purchase and sales ledger management Previous experience handling sensitive financial information with a strong commitment to confidentiality and data protection Ability to work effectively and contribute within a team environment, as well as work proactively using personal initiative to manage own workload Demonstrable organisational skills Ability to work accurately under pressure Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel (Sage 200 advantageous) What you will get in return We offer employees not only a competitive salary but also an excellent suite of benefits including: 25 days holiday and your birthday off!
