The Strainstall team delivers specialist load and structural monitoring solutions that provide real-time insight into asset performance. Their expert teams design and manufacture precision monitoring equipment to help customers manage risk, improve safety and support reliable operations.
What will you be doing?
As a Commissioning Engineer, you’ll play a key role in ensuring our systems are installed, tested and delivered to the highest standard before handover to our customers. This is a hands‑on, site‑based role based in Cowes, Isle of Wight. It will include regular UK and international travel to customer sites.
You’ll Be Responsible For
* Commissioning, testing and final acceptance of monitoring systems both in‑house and on site
* Configuring hardware and software, including sensors and data acquisition systems
* Calibrating and validating load, strain and structural monitoring equipment
* Fault‑finding and resolving technical issues during commissioning
* Producing commissioning documentation, reports and handover packs
* Supporting installation activities alongside engineering and project teams
* Ensuring all work meets quality, safety and customer requirements
* Representing Strainstall professionally on customer sites

* Salary from £35,000 per annum depending on experience, with opportunity to earn up to £60,000

To join our team, you will need
* An Engineering qualification (Apprenticeship, HNC/HND or equivalent experience)
* An electrical background
* Understanding of industrial electronics or automation
* Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces when required
* Good communication skills
* Ability to work independently
