CPI has an exciting opportunity for a Finance & Payroll Assistant to join its established and growing Finance team to play a key role in delivering transactional, financial, and management accounting services, as well as supporting payroll operations across the CPI group of companies.

 1. Managing payroll using the Sage payroll package and ensuring HMRC connectivity
 2. Administering Bupa deductions and issuing payslips
 3. Processing payroll payments via Barclays internet banking
 4. Preparing and posting month-end payroll journals
 5. Administering pension schemes and salary sacrifice programmes
 6. Reconciling payroll figures and producing year-end returns
 7. Processing expense claims and analysing timesheets
 8. Supporting month-end financial reporting and VAT submissions
 9. Maintaining fixed asset registers and intercompany balances
The person we are seeking
The successful candidate will be educated to GCSE level 4 – 6 (or equivalent) in Maths and English and have;
 10. Sage (or equivalent payroll software) experience
 11. Experience working in finance and payroll functions
 12. Extensive experience in Excel 
 13. Experience in month-end procedures and processes
It would also be advantageous if the successful candidate was educated to HND level (or equivalent) in a finance discipline (e.g., AAT) and had;
 14. Experience in both private and public sector finance environments
 15. Experience with the D system
