Responsibilities
* As a project Technical Consultant, provide technical assurance & oversight to help deliver NEC Software Solutions (NEC SWS) solutions into live operational service across our product suite and customer portfolio.
* Build, commission, and upgrade activities for our Control Room Software products. Find out more here: Control Room Software | NEC Software Solutions (necsws.com)
* Technical issue resolution of NEC SWS product suite at hardware and software levels.
* When required, create, review and update NEC SWS Engineering documentation (e.g., work plans, work instructions, technical guides).
* Present technical solutions to internal and external audiences.
* Provide technical assurance across multiple projects via gated review meetings and interactions with stakeholders such as technical sales, support and engineering.
* Evaluate new product hardware and software in accordance with the product roadmap when asked.
* Maintain extensive customer contact on technical and non-technical levels, requiring a professional and adaptable communication approach.
* Work autonomously with high standards of personal time and task management.
* Complete activities within set deadlines and report difficulties to achieve delivery milestones.
* Present a professional approach and attitude to all work undertaken.
Qualifications
* Ideally educated to HND/HNC level or relevant industry experience with years of proven experience in a comparable role/s.
* Experience within IT-focused server & client-based environments.
* Experience troubleshooting and problem solving.
* Proven experience administering and working with Microsoft Windows client & server architecture (Windows 10, up to Server 2019 and beyond), primarily using DELL / HP hardware.
* Good understanding of Microsoft Active Directory / domain architecture.
* Strong interpersonal communication and presentation skills.
* Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
* Experience using design and documentation tools (e.g., MS Visio) and using MS Applications including Excel and Word.
* Very high standard of written communication.
* Proven experience deploying Microsoft Windows and server operating systems.
* Working knowledge of MySQL/MSSQL (running backups, running queries, etc).
* Proven knowledge and experience of virtualization environments (Hyper-V or VMware).
* Excellent customer service skills.
* Proven experience working to ITIL best practices.
