Job Title: Front-End Developer (React / Node.js) - Contract

About the Role
We are seeking a talented Front-End Developer with strong commercial experience in React.js and Node.js to join our team on a contract basis. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of delivering scalable, user-focused applications—preferably within the fintech or wider financial services sector. You will play a key role in building and optimising front-end applications for a fast-paced environment, collaborating with designers, product owners, and backend engineers to deliver exceptional digital experiences.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop, test, and maintain high-quality front-end applications using React.js and Node.js.
* Work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver new features and improvements.
* Ensure performance, accessibility, and security best practices are embedded in the UI.
* Participate in code reviews, troubleshooting, and issue resolution.
* Contribute to technical discussions and help shape the direction of the front-end architecture.
Requirements
* Strong expertise in React.js (hooks, context, state management, component lifecycle).
* Solid experience with Node.js and modern JavaScript (ES6+).
* Previous experience in fintech or financial services highly desirable.
* Knowledge of RESTful APIs, microservices, and integration best practices.
* Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control (Git).
* Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* Ability to work independently in a fully remote setup while staying collaborative.
Nice to Have
* Exposure to TypeScript.
* Experience with testing frameworks (Jest, Mocha, Cypress).
* Knowledge of cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
