Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist to join the acute services at Mill View Hospital, Brighton and Hove, working with working-age adults on Regency Ward—a 19-bed acute mental health unit. You will be part of a well-established, supportive multidisciplinary team including SAS and resident doctors, nursing staff, occupational therapists, and psychologists.
This post also provides opportunities for teaching Brighton and Sussex Medical School students, engaging in reflective practice, and participating in local service development and Trust-wide consultant networks.
Base pay range

What we’re looking for
You will provide expert psychiatric assessment, treatment, and leadership for voluntary and detained patients with a range of acute mental health conditions. You will work closely with the MDT, families, carers, and partner agencies to ensure person-centred, evidence-based care.
This post also provides opportunities for teaching Brighton and Sussex Medical School students, engaging in reflective practice, and participating in local service development and Trust-wide consultant networks.
Key responsibilities
* Lead the medical care of patients on Regency Ward, including Mental Health Act assessments
* Provide psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning for acute adult mental health conditions
* Collaborate with nursing staff, allied health professionals, families, and carers to deliver coordinated care
* Offer specialist medical advice and consultation to colleagues in primary care, community services, and acute specialties
* Participate in reflective practice groups, ward-based training, and professional development sessions
* Contribute to local service development, clinical governance, and Trust-wide consultant networks
Recruitment & Retention Package
This post attracts a £25,000 RRP, paid in staged instalments, plus up to £8,000 relocation allowance. Payments are pro rata for part-time employees.
