Maintenance Engineer – Spalding
Location: Spalding, Lincolnshire
Job Tenure: Permanent
Salary: £43,000 – £55,000 per annum (depending on shift and experience)
Shift Patterns: 4 on 4 off, 3 on 3 (day), or 2 Days / 2 Nights / 4 Off (12‑hour shifts)
What You'll Do
* Carry out planned, preventative, and reactive maintenance on 100% automated production line machinery to maximise reliability and uptime.
* Investigate and resolve electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and PLC faults, performing root‑cause analysis and implementing lasting fixes.
* Maintain stock of spare parts, record all maintenance activity in detailed logs and ensure audit‑ready documentation.
* Collaborate with the operations team to communicate schedules, progress and any downtime impacts.
* Support continuous improvement projects and recommend initiatives to boost safety, efficiency and equipment life.
* Comply with all food safety, health & safety and regulatory standards in a fast‑paced, 24‑/7 environment.
Key Requirements
* Minimum 3–5 years’ engineering experience in a manufacturing environment (preferably FMCG).
* Level 3 or higher engineering qualification, electrical preferred.
* Full right to work in the UK.
* Strong fault‑finding, problem‑solving and communication skills.
* Experience with machinery installation, food hygiene standards and electrical certification is an advantage.
* Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team on rotating shifts.
