Film & TV Acquisitions Executive


We are Content Rocket: An international film and TV distributor that publishes across a host of digital platforms including YouTube, Facebook, Amazon, Roku and Samsung. Our team is small, but our reach is mighty — and we are in need of an Acquisitions Executive to help our team bring more and better content into the business.


We are looking for candidates from anywhere in the world with client-facing sales or acquisition experience in the media industry. Someone confident to hit the ground running who is self motivated, tech-savvy, wants to help us grow and is continually looking to improve the way things are done.


As you will be speaking to existing and new content partners, written and verbal communication competencies are essential. Fluency in English is crucial. Fluency in other languages is a bonus (especially Spanish or Portuguese).


This position will be fully remote with flexible working — we are looking ideally to fill this position full time initially for a fixed term of 1 year but with the goal of extending for the right candidate. You will also be eligible for a performance-based bonus as well as sick pay.


Duties


* Finding and pursuing content leads.
* Negotiating deals with rightsholders.
* Drafting, amending and executing contracts.
* Nurturing relationships with our existing content partners.
* Working within our CRM to track lead and deal progress.
* Mentoring junior acquisitions team members.


Required Qualities


* Proactive and prepared for work in a fast-paced environment with moving deadlines.
* Attention to detail: We are looking for someone we can trust all the way from finding the right kind of content to fine-tuning a contract and signing it.
* Confidence in communication and negotiation especially over email and the phone.
* The ability to doggedly follow research leads and gauge their value until a definite outcome is reached.
* Ability to prioritise tasks and effectively manage their time.


Required Experience


* Working knowledge of the media licensing landscape, processes and terminology — particularly with regards to digital distribution.
* Client-facing experience within an acquisition or sales oriented role in the film & TV industry.
* Preferably some experience with licensing for YouTube.
* Full fluency in English.


Software and Tool Proficiency


Please note, we do not expect you to have experience of all these exact tools, but we do expect you to have some experience with similar ones


* Project management tools such as Monday.com
* CRM experience with Attio or other similar software
* Microsoft Office/Google suite


Salary


* £40-50k base salary with a bonus-structure based on performance.
* The role is an initial one-year fixed term contract with the idea to extend for the right candidate.
