Job Title: Senior Radiology Assistant

JOB PURPOSE/SUMMARY
The Radiology Service delivers diagnostic and treatment services for approximately 600,000 patients annually across 6 sites. The service includes various imaging modalities, each with up to 100 staff, providing high-quality clinical radiology services. The job holder will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, supporting clinical operations, adhering to policies, and ensuring patient care during imaging procedures.
Key Responsibilities
1. Assist with patient preparation, including cannulation and safety assessments.
2. Support staff during interventional procedures, maintaining aseptic techniques.
3. Position patients for examinations, assist with equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and data entry.
4. Ensure patient safety, provide empathetic communication, and assist with patient mobility and hygiene.
5. Prepare and administer contrast media, assist in MRI procedures, and manage stock and equipment.
6. Maintain accurate records, participate in departmental audits, and adhere to safety regulations.
7. Participate in training, departmental meetings, and continuous professional development.

Qualifications and Skills
