An Assistant Management Accountant to work within the Flood Re Finance Team supporting and reporting directly to the Management Accountant however also providing support to the wider Flood Re Team as required.
* Assist in Quarterly Finance Pack (Exec/Committee/Board) production for both soft and hard close processes.
* Assist in the development of the business operational plan and reforecasts.
* Understanding of IFRS 4 and IFRS 17 for budget implementations
* Assist in upcoming Finance projects of IFRS 17 implementation and automation of invoicing process.
* Assist in producing external reports where needed for DEFRA, S&P and OBR.
* Preparation of forms for yearly Insurance renewals and conduct financial analysis for counterparties.
* Ownership of procedural manuals
* First point of contact for the organisation, with ad-hoc queries
* Run the Flood Re expense invoices and payments process.
* Producing expense reports and running the payment processes for claims, invoices, and employee expenses.
* Organise, collate information and effectively document and distribute updates in the financials.
* Covering for Finance Assistant and other team member in the team where necessary
* Assist the FP&A Management Accountant/CFO in activities where required.
Knowledge and Experience
* Strong analytical skills and ability to focus on relevant detail, without losing sight of the bigger picture.
* Strong motivation to learn about insurance.
* Excellent communication skills; both face to face and written.
* Uses initiative to find solutions and approaches problems with curiosity and an open mind.
* Effective time management skills; able to manage several tasks and conflicting priorities.
* Relationship management skills
* Part-Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA)
* Excellent MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Outlook skills
* Good knowledge and experience of general insurance desirable but not essential
* Understanding of IFRS 4 and IFRS 17 desirable not essential
