Our client is currently seeking Infrastructure Planners with 5+ years experience to join their growing team in Edinburgh. This role offers a flexible, hybrid work environment, contributing to major infrastructure projects across the UK.

The Opportunities:
Our client has a growing team of Infrastructure Planners within their national Town Planning business, working with various consenting regimes such as Development Consent Orders, Transport and Works Act, Town and Country Planning Act, and Electricity Act. These planners collaborate with engineers, environmental teams, and communication specialists to lead planning consenting processes from feasibility through to implementation phases. The role supports the planning team on diverse projects, assisting with consent applications and occasionally taking complete responsibility for smaller projects.
Key Responsibilities:
* Supporting the planning team on a range of infrastructure projects
* Preparing consent applications and managing specific aspects of projects
* Drafting reports and meeting with clients or key stakeholders
* Delivering smaller projects in alignment with client objectives and timelines
* Collaborating effectively with internal and external experts to ensure successful project outcomes
* Managing client relationships and articulating complex issues concisely
Job Requirements:
* Degree and/or master's in Town Planning and membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute (MRTPI)
* Strong knowledge of relevant planning legislation and policies
* Experience in producing outputs to support infrastructure consenting or planning policy
* Ability to develop working relationships with various disciplines within the organisation and external forums
* Proven project management skills and a successful record in planning and delivering projects
* Commercial and financial management skills for profitable project management
* Experience in business development, including successful bidding for work
