IT Business Analyst Introduction The IT Business Intelligence Analyst is responsible for transforming data into actionable insights to support strategic and operational decision-making. The role involves working closely with IT, business stakeholders, and leadership to analyse data, develop reports and dashboards, and improve data-driven performance across the organisation. Working Patterns and location - This is a hybrid role with 3 days per week on site in Southampton. Key responsibilities
• Gather, analyse, and interpret data from multiple IT and business systems
• Design, build, and maintain reports, dashboards, and visualisations (e.g. Excel, Power BI)
• Support business transformation, operational excellence, and performance improvement initiatives
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into analytical solutions
• Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across reporting outputs
• Identify trends, risks, and opportunities and present insights clearly to non-technical audiences Skills & experience
• Proven involvement in business transformation and operational excellence initiatives
• Hands-on experience delivering supply chain improvement programmes
• Background in a software-focused organisation is highly desirable
• Prior exposure to defence or national security environments would be beneficial
• Working knowledge of software products, IT services, licensing structures, and Software Asset Management (SAM)
• Strong analytical capability, with advanced Excel skills essential and experience developing Power BI dashboards advantageous
• Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to elicit insights from individuals and teams that may not be immediately apparent
