Your new role
As Senior Finance Controller, you will be responsible for the full remit of NEP's financial control and reporting framework, within a highly regulated incorporated joint venture. This is a pivotal role, akin to an FD position. The Senior Financial Controller will be a key face of Accounting, Reporting & Control to the Board, sub-committees, auditors, and other external stakeholders (such as OFGEM and DESNZ), driving both control and change in a fast-paced, innovative environment role will be part of an initially small Accounting, Reporting & Control team reporting directly to the Commercial Leadership Team.
Key responsibilities include:

 * Leading end-to-end monthly financial reporting and statutory accounts preparation.
 \t
 * Managing the statutory audit process and filing of the company's statutory financial statements, liaising with auditors, regulators, and external stakeholders.
 \t
 * Designing and implementing robust internal controls and IFRS-compliant accounting policies.
 \t
 * Overseeing outsourced providers (accounting, payroll, tax & audit) to ensure delivery to contract and value for money.
 \t
 * Preparing key financial MI for the Board and Audit & Risk Committee.
 \t
 * Monitoring project financing, cash flow, and compliance with covenants.
 \t
 * Driving process improvements and establishing best practice across finance operations.
What you'll need to succeed
 \t
 * Qualified accountant (ICAEW, ICAS, CIMA or equivalent) with circa 10 years post-qualification experience.
 \t
 * Strong technical knowledge of IFRS, statutory reporting, and audit processes.
 \t
 * Gravitas to operate at Board and senior leadership level.
 \t
 * Hands-on approach with the ability to lead and grow a finance team.
 \t
 * Commercial acumen and experience in complex, regulated environments.
 \t
 * Self-starter with a continuous improvement mindset, able to use initiative and commercial acumen to drive solutions.
