We are recruiting for a Treasury Analyst to join our Finance team in London.
Department purpose
To provide high-quality advice and relevant information to decision makers in A&O Shearman, ensuring legal and regulatory compliance and efficient service delivery.
Role purpose
To support the Group Treasurer with treasury tasks such as cash reporting, cash-flow forecasting, policy development, and bank operations, aiming to provide a world-class Treasury service.
Role and responsibilities
Liquidity and Cash Management:
* Forecast cash flow positions, borrowing needs, and available funds, ensuring operational and capital requirements are met.
* Advise management on liquidity aspects of planning.
* Manage global cash resources, optimizing fund use across currencies and offices.
* Pool currencies to maximize cash efficiency and avoid conversions.
* Utilize banking systems and Elite 3E for fund processing.
Risk Management and Compliance:
* Maintain treasury policies, systems, and controls.
* Ensure KYC and bank mandates are current.
Foreign Exchange Management:
* Review and manage currency hedges and exposures, recommending derivatives as needed.
Other:
* Collaborate on system integration and efficiency strategies.
* Develop treasury operation strategies, including system evaluation and bank account rationalization.
* Handle special projects as required.
Key requirements
* Extensive treasury experience, preferably in an international environment, with cash flow forecasting and change management skills.
* ACT qualification, TMS experience, or Elite 3E knowledge.
* Hands-on approach and ability to deputize for the Group Treasurer.
* Understanding of bank account management, international cash flows, and treasury systems.
* Experience with foreign exchange and intercompany cash structuring.
* Excellent communication skills, capable of simplifying complex financial issues.
* Strong organizational, project management, and problem-solving skills.
* Self-motivated with minimal supervision, and capable of leadership and influencing outcomes.
* Knowledge of accounting processes and internal controls.
* Analytical, detail-oriented, and critical thinker.
