Overview
We have an exciting opportunity for an Occupational Therapist to join our in-patient therapy teams covering surgical areas and working alongside the respiratory team. The post holder will have the opportunity to gain experience in this specific area. The team have a therapy office shared between physio and OT, which supports blended working. Ensuring Wirral patients are in the right place at the right time is supported by Home First. There are opportunities to engage in training and development, innovative practice and service development. There will be opportunities to develop skills within critical care. You will have professional support for your CPD from Therapy Team and Clinical Leader and support from Senior Occupational Therapists from other specialities as required. The services also support student training and apprenticeships enabling you to contribute to the future of the profession. Responsibilities
* Assesses and treats own caseload of patients / clients in a speciality and maintains associated records.
* To have a responsibility for Training & Development of occupational therapy staff, students and other staff groups in this speciality.
* Supervise less experienced occupational therapists, assistants, apprentices and students.
* Participates as a member of the therapy team and the MDT within a specified clinical area.
* Has a responsibility re-own CPD and other developmental activities.
* Involvement in identifying and carrying out departmental audit, research or service development activity.
* Participates in providing 7-day services and extended working day, as required by the service. (Some of our services work on extended hours rotas working between 8 am and 8pm.)
