About This Role
This full‑time permanent post is in the College of Health and Social Sciences, within the Sociology, Criminology and Policing Subject Group. The role focuses on teaching and supporting learners on the Policing programmes, mainly working with the Police Constable Degree Apprenticeship (PCDA), the Diploma in Police Studies and the Degree Holder Entry Programme (DHEP) which together train approximately 200 new police constables each year. You will also support the Professional Policing Degree and Level 6 Top‑Up.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver teaching across the Policing programmes, with an emphasis on the PCDA programme.
* Supervise undergraduate project and placement students.
* Provide pastoral and academic care as an Academic and Personal Tutor on Policing and Criminology programmes.
* Participate in recruitment and outreach activities, including Open Days.
* Support the development and assessment of course materials and resources.
Qualifications and Experience
* Practice and/or teaching and training experience within policing or a related field.
* Strong commitment to student experience and inclusive teaching.
* Expected to have or be working towards a post‑graduate qualification in higher education.
* Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a diverse team of academics and practitioners.
