Your new role
As a Temporary Attendance Administrator, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate attendance records and supporting the pastoral team in promoting good attendance across the school. Your key duties will include:
1. Monitoring daily student attendance and updating records using the school’s MIS ( SIMS or Arbor)
2. Following up on unexplained absences and contacting parents/carers
3. Preparing attendance reports for senior leaders and external agencies
4. Supporting safeguarding procedures by ensuring timely and accurate data
5. Liaising with teaching staff and pastoral teams to address attendance concerns
6. Assisting with general administrative tasks as required
This role is vital to ensuring the school meets its statutory obligations and supports student engagement
What you'll need to succeed
7. Previous experience in a school office or administrative role, ideally with attendance responsibilities
8. Strong IT skills and familiarity with school management systems
9. Excellent attention to detail and data accuracy
10. Goodmunication skills and a professional telephone manner
11. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
We will need to be able to obtain references to cover the last 2 years as a minimum and you will need to be willing to undergo an Enhanced DBS check if you don't already have a DBS on the update service.
