Job Description We currently have an excellent opportunity to join the Engine Overhaul Services (EOS) as a Manufacturing Engineer (ME). As an ME within the Capability Team you will be working to deliver overhaul and repair capability for fleet critical capability, and legacy products. The product focused activities will include the Trent 1000, 1000-TEN, XWB, 7000, and beyond. The primary purpose of this role is to drive Manufacturing Engineering functional competencies and technical requirements within the EOS Engineering and Operations management teams - guiding and influencing the technical aspects of our Overhaul and Repair activities. The role will rely on High Performance, LEAN, and improvements focused behaviours and requirements while also looking to incorporate Integrated Product & Production Readiness (IPPR), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) & Technical Pack, and Rolls-Royce Production System (RRPS), and Zero Defect requirements. More generally, the role will respond to business requirements to improve and sustain Overhaul and Repair capability while developing Engine Manuals and Repair definitions. These activities directly bolster the EOS business strategy to ensure MRO engine delivery against customer commitments as the only wholly owned Civil Large Engine repair and overhaul facility in Rolls-Royces global MRO network. Primarily this involves instilling a spirit of innovation and continuous improvement while delivering compliant processes, methods, and systems to our customers, Rolls-Royce, and regulatory bodies. We currently have an excellent opportunity to join the Engine Overhaul Services (EOS) - Off-wing Operations (formerly AR&O) as a Manufacturing Engineer (ME). As a Manufacturing Engineer you will be providing technical support to operations and execute Manufacturing Engineering activities to develop, maintain and continuously improve manufacturing processes and/or methods of manufacture, which are capable of meeting and continuing to meet business and customer requirements for safety, quality, cost, deliver rate and lead time (SQCD). Key Accountabilities: • HSE - Ensure that manufacturing processes are in full compliance to Health, Safety & Environmental Standards and meet the expectations of the Zero Harm programme. • Product Safety - Ensure that manufacturing processes can achieve and sustaining the design intent, and that processes are followed so that our products and those of our suppliers conform to their specification. Rigorously raise, investigate and resolve safety related issues. • Quality - Drive a culture of zero defects within the organisation. Works with all functions to reduce risk and drive product Right First Time. Ensure compliance to all relevant company, legislative and technical policies and standards including RRMS, SABRe and Export Control and Intellectual Property requirements. • Technical Authority - Ensure application of manufacturing process controls within their area of accountability, with authorisation subject to appropriate delegation. Act as MEA or PCA signatory, where applicable. • Requirements - Identify and develop opportunities for new or improved manufacturing processes, digital systems and technologies to meet current or future requirements. • Planning - Plan and manage activities including schedule, resources and costs, gaining buy-off and communicating current status to relevant stakeholders. Ensure issues and risks are resolved to meet project timescales. • Develop Capability - Develop, implement, validate, maintain and continuously improve manufacturing processes, digital systems and/or methods of manufacture which are capable of meeting and continue to meet requirements for safety, quality, cost, delivery rate and lead time. Capture, analyse and use data to demonstrate and improve the current and future capability of manufacturing processes. • Minimum standards - Working with the Manufacturing Engineering Commodity Leaders and Manufacturing Process Owners, drive manufacturing processes towards identified consistent best practice. • Collaboration & Knowledge Sharing - Work with interfacing teams and local experts to ensure technical aspects of manufacturing processes and digital systems are understood and accounted for as required. Capture and utilise lessons learnt. Identify, document and share best practice, including by participation in relevant Communities of Practice. • Develop Talent - Responsible for self-development to meet the required competencies for the role. Continuously seek to expand knowledge and experience to increase effectiveness in undertaking existing and new activities. Provides coaching and technical support to others within their area of competence. • Build external relationships - Operate beneficial relationships with partners and suppliers to enable delivery of their objectives. Key Skills and Experiences: • Professionally Qualified Engineer (e.g. UK minimum HND/foundation degree or other national equivalent) • Recognised national or international engineering accreditation (e.g. UK IEng or CEng) where available • General understanding of manufacturing processes relevant to their business • General awareness of Manufacturing Systems and enabling software tools relevant to the business • Understanding of Manufacturing Engineering processes relevant to their role.
