About the role
The Mackenzie resource centre for older adults is seeking a team member for a social care worker role. The post is based at the centre which currently operates a five‑day service 0900‑1600hrs Monday to Friday; plans are to expand this service to 7 days opening so availability to work some weekends will be required. The role requires an understanding of outcomes focused person‑centred working and experience supporting people living with dementia who are displaying stress and distress. You will work alongside social care and healthcare colleagues following a programme of input for individuals who attend the Mackenzie centre and will have the opportunity to undertake key‑worker roles.
Responsibilities
* Assist with the development of the service as it expands to a 7‑day opening.
* Work alongside social care and healthcare colleagues to deliver a programme of input to individuals attending the centre.
* Support people living with dementia who are displaying stress and distress.
* Act as a key‑worker for individuals as required.
* Be available to work some weekend shifts as the service expands.
Qualifications
* Understanding of outcomes focused person‑centred working.
* Experience supporting people living with dementia who are displaying stress and distress.
* Experience working with a multidisciplinary team.
