A global friction welding manufacturer is looking for an Electrical Design Engineer to join their team based around the Birmingham area.

The ideal candidate will be a hard‑working and adaptable Engineer with a strong design background. Operating at the Halesowen site, you will be responsible for the design and technical support of industrial control panels and more.

£55,000 - £60,000
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare and configure both standard and custom electrical wiring drawings, along with complete Bills of Materials (BOMs).
* Ensure all designs comply with relevant regulatory, design, and testing requirements.
* Produce design documentation including drawings, calculations, and technical specifications.
* Collaborate with suppliers to ensure delivered solutions meet required performance standards.
* Provide technical guidance and promote best practices in industrial control panel design.
* Maintain compliance with applicable design and testing standards throughout project lifecycles.
* Develop and support test rigs, simulation models, and prototype control systems.
* Generate safety approval and sign‑off documentation.
* Perform calculations in line with applicable standards (e.g., BS EN 13849) and demonstrate a strong understanding of relevant electrical standards (e.g., IEC 60204).
Key Requirements
* Proficiency in electrical design software such as AutoCAD Mechanical/Electrical and EPLAN.
* Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
* Solid understanding of industrial electrical systems and control panel design.
* Familiarity with relevant safety and compliance standards.
* HND or Degree qualified is preferred.
