Overview
Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council is seeking a Systems Development Manager (Regulatory Services) to take a lead role in overseeing the computer systems that support our Regulatory Services, including:
* Environmental Protection & Enforcement
* Housing Enforcement & Home Improvements
* Trading Standards
* Environmental Health
* Licensing
Salary: Band G £42,839 - £48,226
The role will:
* Lead the management, maintenance, and development of Regulatory Services computer systems.
* Oversee the day-to-day operation, security, and efficiency of these systems, ensuring they run smoothly and reliably.
* Ensure systems are regularly maintained, updated, and compliant with relevant standards.
* Lead on system upgrades, troubleshooting, and resolving system issues.
* Work with service areas to identify improvements, implement new features, and ensure systems meet business needs.
* Translate business requirements into system solutions and support users to maximise system capabilities.
* Provide expert advice on system use, data integrity, and best practices.
* Champion equality, diversity, and inclusion in all aspects of system development and support.
Qualifications
* A Level 5 qualification (Foundation Degree, HND or equivalent).
* At least 2 years’ experience managing computer systems, including system development, change management, and user support.
* Experience supporting and managing case management systems, ideally within Regulatory Services.
* Strong project management and change management skills.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
