What the role involves
The finance team in Alternative Airlines is developing to support the exciting expansion of the company by scaling up key business processes and reporting, and introducing the right technology and expertise in the team to ensure longevity and success for this young and ambitious company.
The Transactional Finance Lead is an important role leading teams transacting a high volume of data, combined with ensuring robust controls are in place for the processes surrounding the accounts receivable and accounts payable teams.
Reporting to the Head of Finance, your responsibilities will be:
* Leading a team of four to ensure that supplier and customer accounts are up to date and fully reconciled.
* Manage processes surrounding the posting of invoices across multiple currencies, managing a high volume of data in doing so.
* Review and reconciliation of merchant settlement reports to revenue bookings, assisting the team where there are issues and backlogs.
* Design and implement controls and processes around the sales and purchase ledgers e.g. new merchant/supplier onboarding, change of bank details, putting through changes in commercial terms, approval processes and expense policies.
* Set up of new import schedules for new merchants, adapting to their reporting formats and ensuring it contains all necessary information.
* Introduce monthly reporting on AP and AR, providing relevant commentary.
* Work closely with the management accounts and commercial teams to ensure customer and supplier account terms are up to date.
* Collaborating with key colleagues in other teams across the business to streamline processes
* Day to day management of AR and AP, and performance review.
Essential skills
* Experience working in a finance team as an expert in the sales or purchase ledger function.
* Experience of leading and developing teams, using your initiative and collaborative skills to overcome issues.
* Experience working in a multi-currency environment.
* Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel, including vlookups, sumifs and pivot tables.
* Able to demonstrate strong communication skills
* Experience dealing with high volumes of data.
* With a curious nature, you will look to improve, change or automate processes to benefit business performance and/or efficiency.
Desirable skills
* Work experience in e-commerce and/or using BNPL providers
