Excellent opportunity for an Estimator to join a reputable tier 1 main contractor in their fit-out division based in the City of London.
About the role of Estimator
We are a £1bn+ turnover tier 1 main contractor specialising in construction & fit out & refurbishment across multiple sectors. We are a large family-owned business, renowned for delivering high-value, multi-million-pound projects across the UK, our fit-out division is a growing business, with a predicted turnover of £250m in the next 5 years.
We are looking to add an experienced Estimator to our team within our fit-out division based in the City of London 5 days a week, focusing mainly on high end commercial office fit out projects across London.
The ideal candidate will have worked for a tier 1 or large tier 2 contractor, with a background / experience within commercial office fit out. We need someone who is confident working on projects independently and can come into the business and hit the ground running alongside our existing team.
This is a great opportunity for someone looking to continue to progress in their career in Estimating within the Construction environment, working alongside some of the biggest names/talent in the industry, with potential to join them!
Responsibilities for Estimator
* Reviewing tender documentation
* Preparing cost plans, elemental estimates and detailed BOQ's
* Managing tight bid deadlines
* Producing competitive but realistic pricing aligned with company margins
* Issuing enquiry packages to subcontractors and suppliers
* Identifying cost risks
* Supporting two stage tenders and PCSA's
* Attending mid-tender interviews and clarifications
* Producing clear cost breakdowns for project handover
* Highlighting key risks, exclusions, assumptions, and opportunities
Requirements for Estimator
* Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field – or equivalent professional experience
* 6+ years estimating experience
* Strong background with tier 1 or high end tier 2 contractor in fit out industry
* Experience within commercial office fit out
* Able to work on tenders independently
