Treasury Accountant
Salary: £48,091 - £56,105 (Bar £51,653 on full CCAB qualification)

The role
Elmbridge’s Finance Team are looking for an experienced local government accountant to manage the financial transaction services of the Council.
Responsibilities
* Preparation of the final accounts notes relating to financial instruments, including producing working papers and liaison with the Council’s external auditors.
* Preparation of the annual Treasury Management Strategy.
* Managing the Council’s investments and debt in compliance with the strategy.
* Monthly VAT returns and reconciliation of VAT control account.
* Preparation and presentation of treasury monitoring reports to the Audit and Standards Committee.
About you
In addition to being enthusiastic and willing to contribute to strong team environment, you will:
* have a full or part CCAB qualification
* have significant experience of working within a local government finance team
* have a working knowledge of the CIPFA Code of Practice
* have experience of the money market and investments
* have proven oral and written communication skills
* have knowledge/experience of completing VAT returns
