Job Title: Business Development Associate - Salford
About the Role
Salford Business School is seeking a Business Development Associate to support the award-winning Centre for Sustainable Innovation (CSI) under the direction of the CSI Director. This is a 10-month fixed-term contract starting in January 2024.
The CSI focuses on digital transformation, sustainability, and change management, serving as a research and innovation hub for partnerships with industry and academia. The role involves assisting Centre Principal Investigators and Project Managers in meeting project recruitment targets and output capture, as well as leading efforts to bring new and existing products and services to market and enhancing the institution's enterprise offerings.
Responsibilities
1. Engage external stakeholders and establish intermediary networks to promote the Centre's research areas.
2. Lead marketing and business development activities to achieve market-leading positioning and revenue growth.
3. Source new business opportunities in key sectors based on market intelligence reports.
4. Build external client networks to identify potential target organisations and secure new business.
5. Promote the University's collaborative engagement model and build academic networks aligned with sector plans.
6. Develop income growth opportunities from Knowledge Exchange and Commercial Enterprises.
7. Identify and pursue collaboration opportunities across schools and external partnerships.
8. Lead business development initiatives and collaborate with Marketing and External Relations teams to align business development and marketing plans.
