An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Research & Development Department to join us as a Senior Research Therapeutic Radiographer/Nurse.
You will be responsible for delivering and clinically managing your own portfolio of academic and commercial research studies, providing expert research support to investigators within the specialty of Oncology research, specifically Radiography. It is also expected to work across all research specialties and provide cover for colleagues as required.
This role will enable you to gain clinical knowledge and skills around various conditions by working closely with consultants, specialist nurses, and multidisciplinary teams.
Work with the Research Team to support the safe conduct of research in accordance with UK Clinical Trials Regulations and Good Clinical Practice (GCP), ensuring the rights, safety, and well-being of trial participants are protected.
The post holder will coordinate and drive a team in recruiting patients to clinical trials, working closely with the Radiotherapy Service to provide a thorough, high-quality, and efficient service covering all aspects of radiotherapy treatment delivery and patient care.
The role involves developing and growing the research portfolio in the designated specialty, managing and coordinating clinical trials collaboratively with research and multidisciplinary teams. You will be accountable for assessing, planning, organizing, and providing ongoing care to research participants, maximizing compliance with study protocols.
As a specialist, you will provide expert direction, support, supervision, and management of staff, including training to ensure adherence to protocols and practice guidelines.
Requirements include NMC or HPC registration, post-registration NHS experience, and preferably experience in research or radiotherapy, along with knowledge of research regulations related to clinical trials.
