We are currently recruiting a Trainee Welsh-Speaking Teacher to work in a Welsh-medium secondary schools in Cardiff. About the Role
As a Trainee Welsh-Speaking Teacher, you will:
* Supervise classes in the absence of the regular teacher
* Deliver pre-prepared lesson materials and keep students engaged in their learning
* Create and maintain a positive, inclusive, and productive classroom environment
* Support students with a range of learning needs, including Additional Learning Needs (ALN)
* Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies and expectations
* Ensure the safety, wellbeing, and engagement of all pupils
* Report any concerns, incidents, or safeguarding matters to the appropriate school staff
* Build positive relationships with pupils and contribute to a supportive school community

You will ideally have:
* Fluency in both Welsh and English, with excellent communication skills
* Confidence working with and managing groups of young people
* A positive attitude and proactive approach to problem-solving
* The ability to adapt quickly to different school environments
* An understanding of the importance of safeguarding and student wellbeing
* Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with pupils and staff
* A genuine interest in education and supporting pupils to achieve their potential
Requirements
* A passion for education and supporting young learners
* Strong communication, mentoring, leadership, or other transferable people skills
* Willingness to complete all required safeguarding training and compliance checks
* An Enhanced DBS check (assistance provided if required)
* Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC), or willingness to register (guidance provided)
* Two recent professional references
* The ability to travel to schools across Cardiff
