The Opportunity
An established organisation is entering a multi-year technology transformation following sustained growth, geographic expansion, and multiple acquisitions. The focus is on modernising platforms, reducing technical debt, and designing scalable, secure architectures that will support the business for the next decade.
The Role
This is a strategic Solution Architect role; you will shape end-to-end architectures, define future-state platforms, and act as the technical authority across product, engineering, and leadership.
You will define and drive target-state solution architectures aligned to business strategy, product roadmaps, and long-term transformation goals. This includes modern cloud platforms, data architecture, integration patterns, automation, and secure-by-design systems. You will work across greenfield initiatives and complex legacy estates inherited through acquisition, balancing speed, cost, and long-term sustainability.

Technical debt reduction and lifecycle management
Scalable, secure, highly available IoT solutions
Strong alignment between business outcomes and technical decisions
Key Responsibilities
Define end-to-end solution architectures across software, systems, and platforms
Produce target architecture blueprints, logical flows, system interactions, and contracts
Lead architectural decisions that support long-term scalability, security, and operability
Evaluate legacy platforms and recommend remediation, replacement, or consolidation
Work closely with Engineering Leads and Product to ensure solutions are implemented as designed
Review implementations for architectural alignment and challenge where required
Maintain high-quality architectural documentation aligned to delivered solutions
Ensure solutions align to agreed standards, security principles, and DevOps practices
Influence data architecture, data models, and integration frameworks
Keep architecture standards current and fit for future needs
Stay ahead of relevant technology trends and emerging approaches
Experience & Background
Proven experience leading architecture-led transformation programmes
Background as a Solution Architect or Solution Designer on complex platforms
Strong understanding of cloud, platform engineering, APIs, messaging, and workflow systems
Comfortable operating across legacy systems and modern cloud-native architectures
Strong commercial awareness and evidence-based decision making
API and integration architecture expertise
Message buses and event-driven systems knowledge
Data architecture and modelling skills
