An exciting opportunity has arisen within Gilbert & Goode, an award-winning new homes developer in the South West, for a full time, permanent, Development Manager working within the Pre-Construction team. Part of the Ocean Housing Group, Gilbert & Goode has a reputation for creating great places to live and providing an excellent customer experience. Due to growth ambitions, we are seeking a second Development Manager who will be a key contributor to this by working within the Pre-Construction team to deliver G&G's ambitious mixed residential development programme to meet Business Plan timings and expectations. You will have proven development management experience in either a Housebuilding or Registered Provider environment and will have the ability to lead on a varied and mixed portfolio of open market/s106 and affordable schemes as well as conversion of our ever-growing strategic land portfolio. You will be responsible for the whole development process from land secured to obtaining financially viable and technically sound planning consents to delivery into the G&G business. You will have a track record of leading and managing multi-disciplinary teams of consultants, fostering good relationships and ensuring development layouts are optimised to maximise value to the Group. Most importantly, you will be able to demonstrate financial and commercial awareness around the impact of your decisions on the development stage appraisal. Essential Qualifications and Experience for the post: An HND or equivalent Level 5 qualification, ideally in planning, construction, or a related field In-depth knowledge of the development process, within a Housebuilding or Registered Provider environment, including land acquisition, planning strategies and policies A recent and proven track record of securing planning consents for residential schemes Good working knowledge of legal matters, including land acquisitions, options, contracts, and s106 agreements Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, assertive with the ability to influence, negotiate, and foster collaboration High levels of emotional intelligence and self-awareness This is an exceptional opportunity to join a dynamic and forward-thinking team, where you’ll play a vital role in shaping the future of residential developments in the South West.
