Business Unit: Finance Salary range: £47,200 - £60,000 per annum DOE red-hot benefits Location: UK Flexible with occasional visit to Glasgow HUB (at least 1/2 times per month depending on team goals) Contract type : 2 x Fixed Term opportunities for up to circa 12months Our Team The Finance Risk and Governance team work closely with all areas of Finance and Treasury, 2 nd Line and 3 rd Line to ensure that all Risk and Control requirements are fulfilled, thus keeping us safe. You’ll play a key role in providing support to Finance in building a strong risk management culture, and in overseeing the ‘first line of defence’ on its execution of its risk management responsibilities. What you’ll be doing Assisting in the ongoing development and delivery of a robust Risk and Control framework which ensures management attention is focussed upon achieving required standards, identifying when there is a need to improve overall control in response to identified risks, monitoring management responses to reports and ensuring that all appropriate actions are being taken. Providing support and training to teams across Finance to ensure that the control framework applicable has been identified, documented, and assessed to the required standards Planning, and performing the testing of the Finance controls landscape and ensuring work is documented to a high standard enabling reperformance as required. Directing and overseeing the reviews and activities undertaken by the team to ensure that they are compliant with the Group’s Risk and Control methodology. Supporting Policy implementation and compliance across Finance. We need you to have A good understanding of how Finance and Treasury functions operate. An accounting qualification / partly qualified qualification or relevant working experience. Demonstrable subject matter expertise in assessing Risks and Controls. A proven track record of delivering an enhanced control environment and robust reporting. Expert experience in report writing and analysis. Strong inter-personal skills with a focus on improving stakeholder perceptions Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Substantial experience managing all levels of stakeholders, in particular senior stakeholders. It’s a bonus if you have but not essential Experience of end-to-end process mapping Experience of controls testing in 2nd Line, Internal or External audit.
