Investigation Officer
Location: Belfast
Salary: £
Hours of work: Mon - Fri / 9am - 5pm
We're looking for a professional and proactive Investigation Officer to join our client. In this critical role, you will lead comprehensive investigations, gather and evaluate evidence, and produce high-quality reports that support disciplinary and criminal proceedings.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct and manage end-to-end investigations on allocated cases.
2. Develop and implement effective investigative strategies.
3. Collect evidence, visit incident scenes, and conduct interviews.
4. Maintain accurate records using the case work management system.
5. Apply relevant legislation and policy guidance to investigative decisions.
6. Draft professional reports with evidence-based recommendations.
7. Participate in a 24/7 On-Call rota (currently every 1 in 7 weeks).
8. Ensure all information is handled in compliance with GDPR and confidentiality standards.
9. Uphold equality, diversity, and ethical standards at all times.
What We're Looking For:
Essential Criteria:
You must meet one of the following:
10. A degree (or equivalent) and 1+ year of professional investigative experience in criminal justice or a similar setting.
OR
11. 3+ years of established investigative experience in criminal justice or similar fields (if no degree).
You must also demonstrate:
12. Strong written and verbal communication skills
13. Proven investigative interview experience
14. Analytical ability to interpret complex information and draw conclusions
15. Report writing skills with evidence-based recommendations
16. Proficiency in IT systems, especially case management tools
Additional Requirements:
17. PIP Level 1 accreditation (or higher)
18. A full driving licence valid in Northern Ireland
