Job Title: Principal Engineer – PMS C&I (Software)

What you’ll be doing:
* Working to recognised industry standards to produce innovative, high-quality software products.
* Collaborating within a multi-disciplined team, utilizing various tools and programming languages, engaging in all aspects of the software development cycle.
* Taking responsibility for your own and others' work, providing technical assistance to support the development of junior team members.
* Leading assurance and review activities, ensuring configuration, release, and documentation activities meet standards.
* Translating requirements into software designs, implementing and testing solutions, and managing integration, configuration, release, and deployment.
Your skills and experiences:
* Degree in Software Engineering, Instrumentation and Control Engineering, or related field.
* Chartered status or equivalent experience.
* Knowledge of software development lifecycles (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
* Experience with Siemens TIA Portal.
* Experience leading small software teams or as a technical specialist.

The Control Systems software team:
We support the UK MoD with system design, build, procurement, testing, integration, and support for submarine electronic and software systems. This role offers the chance to work on major submarine engineering projects with various stakeholders, including the Ministry of Defence. Relocation support is available for eligible roles.
