As a Youth Support Officer, you’ll be working with young people in secondary schools across the Newport area, helping them thrive both academically and personally.Pupils may have Additional Learning Needs (ALN) or simply require extra support to thrive in the classroom. Your role is to build strong, positive relationships with students—acting as a mentor and communicating effectively to help them feel understood and supported. You will be able to provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with a range of ALN and behavioural challenges. You will work closely with students offering consistent emotional and academic support throughout the school day.
