Aberdeen Neonatal Unit is the North of Scotland tertiary referral centre with 34 cots for premature and newborn infants with both medical and surgical problems. We provide care for over 700 babies and families per year in our intensive, high‑dependency and special‑care nurseries alongside a busy transitional care area and a well‑established neonatal outreach service.
As a member of our team, you will be supported to be flexible, reliable and motivated to foster a positive working environment which encourages staff to show initiative and thrive. Quality improvement work is regularly ongoing in our neonatal centre of excellence. There will be an expectation to complete the neonatal course to become a qualified specialist neonatal nurse as part of the neonatal developmental programme.
We are extremely proud to be baby‑friendly accredited and working towards Bliss accreditation. Family integrated care is the model of care, working in partnership with families, reducing separation and continually empowering families on every step of their journey. We also operate a regional Neonatal Transport Service.
