Job description
The role involves working with automotive OEMs and focuses on the installation, commissioning, and delivery of test and development programmes within Test and Facility Operations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Fitting transmissions, adaptors, and driveline components to test rigs or engines on dyno test cells
2. Liaising with technicians, engineers, and managers working on test programmes
3. Conducting engine testing on engine dyno and/or chassis dyno
4. Performing basic engine test data analysis and fault diagnostics
Job Requirements:
5. Experience in building and stripping transmissions, engines or other rotating machinery
6. Basic understanding and interpretation of test data with the ability to communicate information to engineers
7. Basic metalworking skills and capability to use test workshop equipment such as lathe, milling machine, and welder
8. Flexibility to tackle unfamiliar tasks with limited guidance or supervision
9. Understanding and adherence to strict health and safety guidelines
10. Experience in engine testing on a dyno
11. Experience with engine test equipment and software (STARS, MEXA, Indi, INCA, etc.)
12. Knowledge of engine DVT and sign-off tests
13. Ability to integrate and work well within a small team
14. Preparedness to work off-site for short durations
Advantageous Skills:
15. Experience with instrumentation and logging systems
16. Experience with test rig control systems - N.I./DSG/STARS
17. Experience with test bed calibration processes
