We are partnering with a leading UK contractor on a flagship industrial scheme in Bridgwater and we’re looking to appoint a Senior Design Manager. This is a high‑profile role on a £Bn project where you’ll be central to ensuring design solutions are compliant, cost‑effective, and deliverable - while managing complex stakeholder relationships across clients, consultants, and Tier 1 supply chain partners.
Key Responsibilities
* Ensure designs meet statutory and employer requirements, while identifying opportunities for value engineering.
* Highlight risks, omissions, or errors in tender/project documentation and advise on mitigation strategies.
* Work closely with planning and construction teams to align design with buildability and sequencing.
* Act as the key point of contact for stakeholders, driving collaboration and clear communication.
* Support governance processes and contribute to best practice in design management.
About You
* Professional membership (CIOB, RICS, ICE, RIBA) preferred.
* Experience as a Design Manager on £100m+ projects, ideally in industrial or infrastructure sectors.
* Strong knowledge of CDM and Building Regulations.
* Excellent stakeholder management and client engagement skills.
* Background in consultancy or Tier 1 contracting welcomed.
