GSL Education are seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and inclusive school in Worksop. Role Overview: As an SEMH TA, you will help pupils with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs engage with their learning while building their confidence, independence, and resilience. As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will: Support the teacher in delivering engaging, personalised lessons for pupils with SEMH needs. Provide one-to-one or small group support to pupils requiring additional attention. Help create a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment that promotes emotional wellbeing and confidence. Assist in implementing individual learning and behaviour plans in collaboration with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral staff. Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils to encourage motivation, resilience, and positive behaviour. Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to help adapt support as needed. Promote an inclusive and respectful classroom culture. Requirements for SEMH Teaching Assistant: Previous experience working with pupils with SEMH or additional learning needs is highly desirable. Patience, empathy, and a flexible approach to supporting challenging behaviour. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. A genuine passion for helping young learners succeed.
