Light To Heavy Technician- Washington Salary: Up to £38,000 (DOE) once qualified. Shifts: 6.00 - 14.30 and 9.30 - 18.00, and 1 Saturday in 4, paid at time and a half. What You Will Do At Washington Depot you will contribute to the transformation of our company, the transport industry and society at large. As a Light Vehicle Technician converting to a HGV technician, you will be joining our Service & Workshop team at our Volvo Truck and Bus Centre. Where you will be ensuring repairs are carried out according to Volvos Standards. Here at Volvo Trucks, we believe are at the forefront of Electromobility so you will also be working on a range of systems which include alternative fuels such as LNG, hybrid and Full electric vehicles. Don’t worry if you don’t have experience with these alternative systems. When joining you will be provided with a training path. Starting with an induction at the depot to foundations events which will take you through all systems you will be using. As well as a number of courses both online and in-person to develop your skills and support you in your new role. Your future team Our Washington Depot Volvo Truck and Bus Centre Washington has now been awarded the Authorised Testing Facility (ATF) status and is now working in conjunction with DVSA inspectors onsite. What You Need City and Guilds / A Level 3 Diploma in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair Principles is recommended; however, Level 2 or other similar qualification will be considered. Light Vehicle experience - ability to demonstrate knowledge and experience on cars, vans, plants or motorbikes. Attitude and willingness to work in the Truck Industry as well as relevant experience working on vehicles.
